Largest Climber Gathering of the Year Starts Season with Star Athletes, Education and Stewardship

Friends Of Joshua Tree (a 501 c3 organization) will produce the event, gathering climbers from around the country to kick off the climbing season there around education, stewardship and community.

Many top athletes, including Peter Croft, Hans Florine, Chris Schulte and Brad Gobright will be in attendance and many industry brands will anchor the Vendor Village at the event venue (Joshua Tree Lakes Campground).

Presenting Sponsors include The North Face, Gramicci, adidas Outdoor, Gear Coop and Adventure 16, with many more supporting brands and organizations. This event is a benefit for Friends Of Joshua Tree and JOSAR, the very busy search and rescue organization serving all user groups in the National Park.

Clinic tracks will take place each day of Climb Smart (Oct. 14-16) in the Joshua Tree National Park in California, and several stewardship projects in concert with Joshua Tree National Park are being cooperatively arranged with staff.

Film screenings, athlete presentations, a huge raffle and silent auction as well as sponsoring brands and organizations will be present over the three days of Climb Smart. Camping, Dinners and presentations Friday and Saturday nights are included in the low price, and breakfasts Saturday and Sunday are anchored by the Southern California Mountaineers Association (SCMA), asking $5 donation to Friends Of Joshua Tree.
