Epic Rides to Resume Arizona Events This Year

Jan 28, 2022

Off-road specialist Epic Rides will resume its events in 2022 with a focus on Arizona-based events. These consist of the 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo, Whiskey Off-Road, and the Tour of the White Mountains.

Epic Rides will continue to postpone its non-Arizona events – consisting of the Carson City Off-Road in Nevada, and the OZ Trails Off-Road in Arkansas. The Grand Junction Off-Road in Colorado has been permanently discontinued.

In a release the company noted, “Like many businesses specializing in live, in-person events, Epic Rides has atrophied since March 2020 with a substantial loss of revenue and personnel due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although very optimistic about being at the forefront of mountain biking in America, Epic Rides has opted for a running start strategy rather than attempting to deadlift its full campaign of six events nationwide.”

“In order to maintain the high quality, soulful and gritty backcountry mountain bike event experiences that our audience enjoys, we’re forced to take one step back in order to take two steps forward,” said Todd Sadow, President and founder of Epic Rides.

Although unfortunate, the company notes that this decision will provide its with the opportunity to return to live event production while avoiding the substantial risk associated with producing a wider campaign of events that was organically grown prior to the pandemic.

“Epic Rides extends a great deal of gratitude to the communities of Carson City, NV, and Bentonville and Bella Vista in Arkansas,” added Sadow. “The patience of these communities is invaluable, giving Epic Rides an additional year to gain confidence in our recovery from the impacts of the pandemic while the global supply chain irons out its wrinkles, allowing for more reliable involvement from the bike industry.”

All registrants of a cancelled 2020 Epic Rides Series event receive a 25% credit applied to their account (valid through 2023). There is also an early and discounted registration opportunity into the 2022 Whiskey Off-Road and Tour of the White Mountains events.

The company reported that its 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo event registration opened on October 1st and reached its 2,000 participant capacity in three hours.

Whiskey Off-Road (GA) registration opened on Friday, December 17, 2021. Tour of the White Mountains (GA) registration opens on Wednesday, June 1, 2022
