Down that Slippery Slope: Bobsled and Skeleton Racing Season Underway

The international sliding season is underway and racing continues this week on the Intercontinental Cup, European Cup and North American Cup tours. Team USA captured 16 medals in the North American Cup opener in Park City, Utah last week and the team hopes to extend their success on the 1988 Olympic track in Calgary, Canada on the second stop of the tour. Meanwhile, the skeleton-only Intercontinental Cup tour kicks off the season in conjunction with the skeleton European Cup in Lillehammer, Norway.

The Calgary North American Cup schedule is as follows, with all times listed in local time:

Friday, Nov. 21:

9 a.m.: Women's and men's skeleton race #3

3 p.m.: Women's and men's two-man bobsled race #3

Saturday, Nov. 22:

9 a.m.: Women's and men's skeleton race #4

3 p.m.: Women's and men's two-man bobsled race #4

Sunday, Nov. 23:

10 a.m.: Four-man bobsled race #3

2 p.m.: Four-man bobsled race #4

The Lillehammer Intercontinental (ICC) and European Cup (EC) schedules are as follows, with all times listed in local time:

9 am: Women's and men's skeleton EC race #1

2 p.m.: Women's and men's skeleton ICC race #1
