With multiple ways to race, the 18th annual Brett/Robinson Alabama Coastal Triathlon is a splashing solution for fall fitness Saturday, Sept. 6. Taking place at Gulf Place Public Beach in Gulf Shores and headquartered at The Hangout, this signature event offers the triathlon (sprint and Olympic distances), swim-bike, bike-run and relay formats for athletes at all levels to participate.
“The Alabama Coastal Triathlon is more than just a race; it’s a tradition with our long-standing sponsor Brett/Robinson,” said Michelle Russ, STS, vice president of sales, sports and events at Alabama’s Beaches Sports & Events. “Many participants race year after year, and the event continues to grow during our fall shoulder season. In 2024, 55% of the racers were first-time participants in this race, and 20% were first-time triathlon participants.”
Packet pick-up will take place Friday, Sept. 5, at The Hangout from 4-6:30 p.m. as well as race day from 5:30-6:30 a.m. The Olympic distance triathlon will begin at 7 a.m. followed by the spring "Tri-It-On" format at 7:50 a.m. The post-race party for participants will feature awards, food by The Hangout and drinks from Coca-Cola.
