Hoover Greets Fall in a Blaze of Sports

Each fall, the Hoover Met undergoes its signature transformation. The pitcher’s mound is leveled, turf re-lined, and goalposts raised — turning a baseball diamond into a football battleground. More than a conversion, it’s a tradition that highlights the Met’s versatility and its role as a landmark of Hoover’s sports and community spirit.
 

On August 22, Hoover High opened their season under the Friday night lights against nationally ranked IMG Academy, stepping onto a field steeped in both tradition and fresh energy.
 

And that is only the beginning. This fall, the Finley Center will host trade shows, tournaments, and community events that fill the calendar. The RV Park will welcome families for Spookfest Halloween fun, bringing the community together for a festive night. And the BHM26.2 Marathon will bring thousands of runners through our roads, raising over $1 million for Alabama children.
 

Whether it’s football, festivals, or finish lines, the Hoover Met Complex is proud to be part of Hoover’s story each season.

Birmingham Bash

 BHM26.2 Race Series
October 5 | Hoover Metropolitan Complex

BHM26.2 is Alabama’s only fully charitable race series, benefiting Magic Moments. Featuring a marathon, half marathon, relay, 10K, 5K, and kid’s fun run, the event draws more than 2,000 runners each year.
 

Now in its eighth year, BHM26.2 has raised over $1 million for children in Alabama. With a family-friendly after party and a mission that inspires, it’s more than a race — it’s a chance to bring magic to kids in need.  LEARN MORE 

HYLO New Player Clinic 
Have a child interested in trying lacrosse?

HYLO is hosting a New Player Clinic at the Hoover Met Complex on October 5, 12, 19, and 26. For just $85, participants get four sessions plus a USA Lacrosse membership (a $35 value) that can be used for the Spring 2026 season.
