Ol' Colony Welcomes Competitive Golfers

If you like competitive golf against players of your same caliber, then mark your calendars for May 11th. The Birmingham GolfWeek Amateur Tour will be coming to Ol' Colony. The GolfWeek Amateur Tour is tournament golf flighted within 4-5 strokes between 5 flights; Champ (0-3.9), A (4-8.9), B (9-13.9), C (14-18.9) and D (19+). Each tournament players compete for prizes and also for the season long FedEx Cup style points race where top flight finishers receive an invitation to compete in the National Championship at Hilton Head. Last year they hosted over 600 golfers in a 54-hole championship. There will also be optional skins and closest to the pin games.

The tournament is $90, however Ol' Colony Golfers who participate and bring a friend will each receive a paid entry into the $10 skins pot. For this event you may play as a guest of the Tour. To compete for prizes you will need a verifiable handicap. You will have the option to join the Tour after the event if you chose and will receive points for the season's race. Payouts are in the form of MasterCard or Visa gift cards (does not violate amateur status) to the top 1/3 in each flight. You will need to register by Monday, May 6th.
