The Dauphin Street Vault raises the bar once again, joining the World Athletics Global Circuit as a Challenger Event, marking a significant milestone for both the event and the Mobile area.

This designation places the Dauphin Street Vault on the global track and field calendar, allowing participating athletes to earn World Athletics ranking points and further solidifying the event’s status as an elite-level competition.

Held annually in the heart of downtown Mobile, the Dauphin Street Vault transforms Dauphin Street into a world-class venue, drawing Olympians, professional vaulters, and rising talent from across the country and beyond. With its unique street setting and strong community support, the event has quickly become a standout on the national track and field scene.

“This recognition from World Athletics is a tremendous achievement for our event and our city,” said Drew Bentley, Event Director for the Dauphin Street Vault. “It validates the quality of competition we’ve built and positions Mobile as a destination capable of hosting internationally recognized sporting events.”

The Challenger designation is part of the World Athletics Continental Tour, a global series of meets that provide competitive opportunities and ranking pathways for athletes worldwide. Inclusion at this level enhances the event’s ability to attract top-tier competitors and increases Mobile's international visibility.

To meet World Athletics competition standards, the Dauphin Street Vault is constructed using World Athletics-certified equipment and surfaces, including a professional runway and landing system from UCS Spirit and a certified surface from Beynon Sports. The temporary competition venue is engineered to meet precise international specifications, ensuring that performances achieved in downtown Mobile are recognized on the global stage.

The Dauphin Street Vault is supported by the Mobile Sports Authority (MSA), which continues to play a leading role in bringing high-impact sporting events to the region. Since its inception, the event has contributed to downtown activation, tourism growth, and community engagement.

“Events like the Dauphin Street Vault showcase the energy and vibrancy of our downtown while delivering meaningful economic impact,” said Danny Corte, Executive Director of the MSA. “Being recognized by World Athletics further strengthens Mobile’s position as a competitive player in the sports tourism industry.”

The upcoming edition of the Dauphin Street Vault is scheduled for July 18, 2026, with additional details on athletes, schedule, and community activities to be announced. Registration for this year's event is open now.
