High Water Forced Relocation from Alabama River

B.A.S.S. will host the Alabama River Charge presented by Star brite, May 9 – 12, on the Alabama River in Montgomery, Ala., the fifth of eight Bassmaster Elite Series professional bass fishing tournaments scheduled in 2013.

Due to high water on the Alabama River, the launch site has been relocated to Cooter’s Pond in Prattville and will take place at 6:30 a.m. each day.  The official weigh-ins will now be held at the Union Station Train Shed at 3:45 p.m. each day.  The updated schedule is as follows:

Thurs., May 9 – Fri., May 10
6:30 a.m.- The full field of anglers launch at Cooter’s Pond in Prattville (138 Pierce Ln Prattville, AL 36066).
3:45 p.m.-Official weigh-in takes place both days at the Union Station Train Shed (300 Water Street).

Sat., May 11
6:30 a.m.-The Top 50 anglers launch for semi-finals of the Alabama River Charge at Cooter’s Pond in Prattville (138 Pierce Ln Prattville, AL 36066).
12 p.m. – 6 p.m.-Elite Series Expo.
3:45 p.m.-Official weigh-in takes place both days at the Union Station Train Shed (300 Water Street).

Sun., May 12
6:30 a.m.-The Top 12 anglers launch for the final day of Alabama River Charge competition at Cooter’s Pond in Prattville (138 Pierce Ln Prattville, AL 36066).
12 p.m. – 6 p.m.-Elite Series Expo

:45 p.m.-Official final weigh-in for the 2013 Alabama River Charge winner starts at the Montgomery Riverfront Union Station Train Shed.

The Elite Series Expo will have B.A.S.S. sponsor representatives on site throughout the weekend with activities, games and prizes for attendees. Companies like Mercury, Nitro, Skeeter, Triton, and Yamaha will be offering demo rides and have booths at the Expo. Toyota, Carhartt, Berkley, Minn Kota, Humminbird, Livingston Lures, Lowrance, Power-Pole, Shimano and Luck “E” Strike, will also have booths at the Expo.

Other activities planned throughout the Alabama River Charge weekend include a casting competition and demo presented by Shimano and the Toyota Torque Pull. Fans will also have the opportunity for angler autograph and photo sessions, and learning tips and techniques from some of the best bass anglers in the world.
