Gulf Shores International Airport was selected as one out of 144 airports nationwide to receive funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law – Airport Terminal Program. The $5M grant will significantly support the construction of a new commercial terminal, which will provide direct commercial air service to Gulf Shores.

"This grant represents a major milestone in our vision to bring commercial air service to our community," said Gulf Shores International Airport Director Justin Fletcher. "The new terminal will provide an exceptional gateway for residents and visitors, boosting tourism, economic development, and job creation throughout the region."

The $5 million grant covers a portion of the total project cost, marking a critical step towards securing the complete funding needed. The new terminal will offer modern amenities, streamlined passenger flow, and increased capacity to accommodate diverse air carriers and destinations.

The Gulf Shores International Airport Terminal Project was competitively selected amongst hundreds of nationwide applications, highlighting the project's merit and potential impact. The airport also received crucial support from Congressman Jerry Carl and Senator Tommy Tuberville, whose letters advocating for the grant application played a vital role in the selection process.

"With this grant, we are one step closer to realizing the dream of commercial air service in Gulf Shores, and that wouldn’t have been possible without the help of both Congressman Carl and Senator Tuberville," said Mayor Robert Craft. "This project will unlock tremendous economic opportunities, provide easy access to commercial air travel for businesses and residents, and enhance the tourism experience for all.”

Gulf Shores International Airport remains committed to collaborating with stakeholders and keeping the community informed throughout the project development. For more information about the Gulf Shores International Airport, visit www.flyjka.com
