Cue the Stampede: NCAA Announces Championship Bid Process

The NCAA will be accepting bids for championships across a range of sports (seriously, a very wide range: alphabetically, it goes from baseball to wrestling) for the school years 2026-2027, 2027-2028, 2028-2029 and 2029-2030. Bid specifications come out in July, a host symposium is held at NCAA in August and all bids are due in February. Learn more. more

The 3,000-plus players ranged in age from the top end of 88 to a young'un of nine. And according to recent research, the sport once tagged as being for seniors now has an average player age of 34. more

For part of May, a footwear company is challenging walkers, hikers, runners and people using mobility assistive devices to walk or hike at least one mile a day.
