Jo Mirza

J.B. (Jo) Mirza is the 49^th president of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), having served the organization for more than five decades at the local, national and international levels. He got his start in karate, competing in the Central AAU Association (now District). His roles with the AAU have included AAU Karate National Chair, District AAU Governor (Central and Florida Gold Coast), District Lieutenant Governor (Central) as well as instructor, official and volunteer. In 1987, he was elected AAU Karate National Chair. He was elected to the office of AAU National Treasurer in 2014 and re-elected in 2018. Mirza has been a member of the AAU Board of Directors since 1994.
