Flag Football Gains Yardage at NCAA, High School Levels

NCAA women’s sports are making 2025 the year they don’t take no for an answer. Recently, the NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics made a recommendation that Divisions I, II and III sponsor legislation to add flag to the NCAA Emerging Sports for Women program. On June 16, the NFHS will release its long-awaited flag football rules. Here’s the latest.

Boost in Sports Equipment Sales Heralds Positive Forecast for Industry

The overused term is “perfect storm,” a confluence of factors that create a rare outcome. And right now, that’s what’s going on with sales of sports equipment. Racquet and golf equipment manufacturer Yonex, for example, reported revenues nearly 20 percent growth in its fiscal year. That tells us great things are in store for the travel sports industry.

New MLB-Funded Softball League Steps Up to the Plate

The National Basketball Association has the WNBA and now, Major League Baseball has the AUSL — the Athletes Unlimited Softball League. NFL Players Get their Wish: To (Maybe) Play in LA 2028

The NFL is getting its wish: Its players are allowed to play men’s flag football in the Summer Games in 2028. Sort of. Players can try out for the team, although since tackle and flag differ vastly, it remains to be seen how NFL many players wind up on the roster. Team USA Flag Football, meanwhile, is making no secret about its anger over the issue.
