USPTA National Headquarters would like to announce the restructuring of its Certification Department.

Ramona Husaru has proven she is a huge asset to the USPTA over the past 14 years with both her tennis knowledge and work ethic. She’s the first female to hold the Director of Education role, overseeing the association’s continuing education program that includes face-to-face conferences, online education, and the membership’s compliance with the continuing education requirement. She is also a Coach Developer conducting certification trainings and tests. Ramona led the production of the “On Court with USPTA” instructional show that aired on Tennis Channel for over ten years and has contributed greatly in expanding and innovating the association’s educational offerings. Now, she will be adding new responsibilities to her current role, by also overseeing the certification department on a day-to-day basis.

Her focus will be on the tennis side of things, dealing with the Coach Developers (identifying, training and leading) and the Teaching Essentials (TE) workshops. Ramona will assume the title of Director of Education and Certification. Always up for a new challenge, she’s also pursuing a PhD in Performance Psychology.

Jim Stockwell has also proven his abilities at USPTA headquarters over the past two years, serving as Certification Manager and a Membership Services Coordinator. During his time in certification, he helped build the new certification pathway and implement it with Coach Developers. Also, in 2022 Jim was instrumental in launching a new USPTA Pickleball Certification. He will now manage the business and administration side of the certification department. Most of what happens in certification on a daily basis will be his responsibility. Jim will assume the title of Senior Manager – Certification.

Immediate Past President, Feisal Hassan, has also agreed to add to his duties in this area. He currently serves as our Chair on the Certification Committee and our Lead Coach Developer for the TE workshops. Feisal will be conducting the majority of the workshops in 2023, as the organization ramps up its offerings and number of Coach Developers.
