Drag Racing's Premiere Series will Return September 25 - 27, 2015 as Part of Long-Term Contract Extension Between Gateway Motorsports Park and National Hot Rod Association

Officials from the National Hot Rod Association announced today that the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series will return to Gateway Motorsports Park for the fourth consecutive year in 2015. The AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals will be contested on September 25-27, 2015.

"We're currently preparing for the 2014 event and we're already excited about what's to come in 2015," said Chris Blair, Gateway Motorsports Park Executive Vice President and General Manager. "We now have our NHRA date locked in and NASCAR will be announcing the 2015 schedule this week. Having those two big pieces of the puzzle in place will allow us to start filling in the other 50 weeks of the year with entertaining programming."

Gateway Motorsports Park is coming off of a record-setting weekend with the Street Car Super Nationals that saw the fastest side-by-side runs by full-bodied drag cars in the history of drag racing at more than 270 miles per hour. The Gateway track is becoming known as one of the quickest and fastest venues in the sport, a reputation that fits perfectly with the programming plans for future seasons.

"We had an incredible NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series sportsman event in early August that was met by rave reviews from the participants," continued Blair. "We followed that up with a truly memorable Street Car Super Nationals, and now we are focused on producing the 3rd Annual AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals on September 26 - 28.   Ticket sales for the event have been tremendous, and we're anticipating that this year's event will shatter all previous attendance records.”

Tickets are currently on sale for the AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals by calling 618-215-8888 or by visiting GatewayMSP.com.   The track offers a variety of ticket and premium experience packages for the NHRA event.

This world-class facility has hosted NHRA events in the past starting in 1997 and featured tight racing with many surprise winners. Drivers in the Countdown to the Championship will be looking to gather all the points they can as including this event there will be only four races remaining before champions are crowned for the 2014 season.

Located just five minutes from downtown St. Louis and covering 180 acres of prime real-estate, Gateways MSP is the largest outdoor entertainment facility in the region, encompassing a ¼ mile NHRA-sectioned drag strip, 1.2 mile NASCAR oval track, 1.6 mile road course, a new Gateway Karting facility and a new 14-acre off road course.
