The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) has announced a new corporate partnership with Neptune Navigate, a training service designed to promote online good sportsmanship and positive digital citizenship. Through the partnership, Neptune Navigate will become the "Official Online Good Sportsmanship Solution of the NFHS.”

Similar to fellow NFHS partner Neptune GameTime, a custom music screening service for schools and universities, Neptune Navigate was developed by CMC Neptune, a Texas-based company that works with thousands of school districts across the USA.

Focused on safe and smart navigation of “all things digital,” Neptune Navigate focuses on teaching and equipping students, staff and parents. With an emphasis on good online sportsmanship in the ever-growing social media realm, Navigate for Student Athletes contains highly practical subject matter for NFHS member state associations and schools in those 51 associations.

“We are thrilled to enter into this new corporate partnership with Neptune Navigate,” said Dr. Karissa Niehoff, CEO of the NFHS. “As the popularity and influence of social media continues to surge, we feel it is imperative that our students – as well as our coaches, administrators, parents and everyone involved in education-based athletics – are aware of the ways they can endanger themselves with their online behavior and understand the techniques they can employ to prevent that from happening. We believe Navigate for Student Athletes can be a tremendous tool for keeping students within our membership safe.”

Neptune Navigate’s turnkey, online curriculum includes comprehensive lesson modules that teach student-athletes, coaches and parents how to behave responsibly online, while stressing that in the digital world, “nothing is ever really private, and everything is permanent.”

We are very excited to be partnering with the NFHS as their official online good sportsmanship solution for high school athletes,” said Eric Jontra, President/Founder of CMC Neptune. “Our mission with this product – to teach student athletes the importance of practicing good sportsmanship every time they are in the digital world – aligns well with the priorities of the NFHS.

“Neptune Navigate for Student Athletes was designed for today's reality in which athletes spend as much time online, if not more, than they do with their sports. We help them understand that digital is different: what they say and do there is permanent. That’s why it's so important to slow down and think before they post, and to always practice online good sportsmanship.”
