Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series and GEICO announce an extended partnership through 2018. The renewed agreement designates GEICO as the exclusive auto insurance partner for more than 21 Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series events in the United States. Although the partnership officially kicked off at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona event back in January, GEICO showcased its enhanced footprint at the St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll Nashville Marathon & ½ Marathon the weekend of April 28-30, 2016.

“The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series is an all-encompassing sports marketing platform with multiple touch points to reach an engaged demographic,” said Melissa Halicy, senior marketing manager at GEICO. “With a broader footprint at the Health & Fitness Expos, new race day activations on course and at the finish line, we look forward to the GEICO Gecko bringing fun and fitness to running events across the United States.”

“GEICO has been a longtime partner of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series,” said Doug Kaplan, SVP of Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. “This brand is all about the runner’s journey and supporting athletes of all abilities; whether it’s a social media campaign leading up to the race, at the Expo or on course, participants can expect an encouraging presence.”

As part of the extended agreement, GEICO will have a Military Mile at six select Rock ‘n’ Roll events which further highlights its commitment to serving the military since 1936.

The insurance brand will also have a new and larger footprint at the Health & Fitness Expo providing a more interactive experience for runners.

More than 600,000 professional and amateur athletes from all over the world will participate in a Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series event in 2016, which has expanded to 30 markets worldwide. Last year the series introduced the popular “Remix Challenge,” offering an extended weekend of running with 5K, 10K, half-marathon and marathon distances to engage runners of all abilities. The musically-themed races have spearheaded an active lifestyle movement that provides unique entertainment for people from all walks of life.
