NWAC Basketball Championships Coming to Everett Community College

March has arrived and “The Heat Is On” for the Northwest Athletic Conference men and women basketball teams. The Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) will be showcasing their Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship Tournaments, March 9-12 and March 18-19, 2017 at the Walt Price Student Fitness and Event Center, on the campus of Everett Community College. 

16 men’s and 16 women’s community college basketball teams will be playing their version of the Sweet 16, Elite 8, Final 4 and championship games to determine the 2016-2017 NWAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Champions.  Teams and fans representing communities from as far south as Roseburg, as far East as Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and as far west as Port Angeles, Washington will be converging on the City of Everett for this two weekend event.

Men’s basketball games begin the Sweet 16 matchups on Thursday, March 9 at 8 am with the Elite 8 games on Friday.  Women’s basketball games begin the Sweet 16 matchups on Saturday, March 11 at 8 am with the Elite 8 games on Sunday.  The teams which advance to the Final Four will return to play on Saturday, March 18th.  The all-star games will be played on Sunday, March 19 with the women all-star game at 11 am and the men all-star game at 1 pm.

The Snohomish County Sports Commission and Everett Community College is hosting the championships for the second year in a row.  Student-athletes that are competing in the tournament will be participating in a community service project by donating cans of food to be distributed by the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Everett.

One-day tournament pass may be purchased at the door.  One day passes are Adult $17, Students/Seniors/Military (with valid id) $10, Children 7 – 12 years old $8, and Children 6 and under Free.
