Prairie View A&M University and Grambling State University will face off in this historical Southwestern Athletic Conference football game Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 4 PM in the Dallas -Cotton Bowl Stadium.
Coach Eric Dooley in his 4th season at the helm of the Prairie View A&M University the Panthers have become one on of the most explosive and productive offenses in the country. The 2019 campaign saw the Panthers post a 6-5 record, including another STATE FAIR CLASSIC win over Grambling State. The Panthers ranked No.4 in total offence while garnering top 25 ranking in passing offense, rushing offense, scoring offense, passing efficiency, defensive efficiency and sacks allowed.
In 2019, Fobbs led the Tigers to a 6-5 overall record and a 4-3 mark in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). Grambling State had four players named to the All-SWAC teams, including De’Arius Christmas, who earned the SWAC’s Defensive Player of the Year honor for the second consecutive season. In addition, the Tigers defense ranked tops in the conference in six categories, including blocked kicks (which led the nation), defensive touchdowns, fumbles recovered, passes intercepted, turnovers gained and turnover margin.
The STATE FAIR CLASSIC is truly a FOOTBALL rivalry that features the “Halftime Showdown” between Prairie View “Marching Storm” Band and the Grambling State “World Famed” Band.

A 2021 STATE FAIR CLASSIC ticket purchase by fans includes admission to the State Fair of Texas and the incredible Pre-Game Concert featuring National Recording group Dru Hill on the Chevy Main Stage at 2PM and Post-Game Concert at 8:30 PM featuring Grammy nominated Black Pumas on the Chevy Main Stage with gates opening to the game at 3:00 PM.
