The 73rd Annual Race of Champions Weekend returns to Lake Erie Speedway Friday-Sunday, highlighting a weekend that will also see The Bass Federation host its District 14 National Semi-Finals and Lake Effect Hockey host its 2011 AAA Junior Otters Showcase.

“With a variety of events taking place all across Erie County, sports tourism will help drive more than half a million dollars of estimated economic impact to our hotels, restaurants and other attractions this weekend,” Erie Sports Commission Executive Director Mark Jeanneret said. “All three of these events draw diverse crowds, from families with children to adults looking for a weekend away, and I’m confident they will all find a perfect host in Erie.”

Race of Champions Weekend will once again be capped off with the 73rd running of the Lucas Oil Race of Champions 250, North America’s second-longest consecutive-running auto racing event behind the Indianapolis 500.
