The Manitoba Soccer Association (MSA) is pleased to announce that six Manitoba clubs will be taking part in the 2023 Toyota National Championships, which begins on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023 in three Canadian cities.

The Under 15 Cup will take place in Waterloo, Ontario with Manitoba being represented by Winnipeg Phoenix FC in the girl’s divisions and World Soccer Academy in the boy’s division. The Under 17 Cup will take place in Moncton, New Brunswick with Manitoba being represented by AK Academy in the girl’s division and Bonivital SC in the boy’s division. Finally, the Senior Men’s Challenge Trophy and Senior Women’s Jubilee Trophy will be played in Halifax, Nova Scotia with FC Winnipeg Lions representing the province in the men’s category, and FCNW Starz in the women’s category.

All 2023 Toyota National Championships will run from October 4th to 9th, 2023. Canada Soccer will be broadcasting daily from all venues, and live streaming of matches can be found at canadasoccer.com.

It will be an exciting week, as this will be the first time for many players participating in a National Competition. The National Club Competition will test all team’s resiliency as they play multiple matches against tough opponents over a short period of time.

The Masters Regional Club Championships were held at the end of September in Saskatoon, with Bandits FC representing Manitoba in the men’s division, and Winnipeg Bisons FC in the women’s division. MSA referees will also be represented at the national level.

The Manitoba Referee Program will be sending Nicholas Howey to participate in the U15 Cup in Waterloo, Ontario, and Brenna Zeltins to the Senior Competition in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Héctor Vergara, MSA Executive Director, commented, “The Manitoba clubs have been working hard preparing for Nationals and we wish them all well. We know it is a difficult competition but with the right mind set every club has a good opportunity to do well. We hope that everyone enjoys the experience and has a great competition. All the best to the coaches, players and referees from Manitoba.”
