Valley of the Eagles Golf Club, the only Nicklaus Design daily-fee course in Northern Ohio, is now open for golf and dining enjoyment. The club's 24,000 square-foot clubhouse has the first level fully operational and course conditions are excellent.

Set on the site of the former Spring Valley Country Club, Valley of the Eagles was completely redesigned by the team from Nicklaus Design. Last summer, the course opened for a short “preview window” with limited amenities while crews completed construction of the clubhouse. With the clubhouse open and a few enhancements made to the golf course, both the clubhouse and course are ready for golfers to enjoy.

Designed to capture the beauty of the Black River Valley, the golf course plays to a par of 72 and measures 6,941 yards from the tips. The course meanders through Black River Valley’s sheer black shale cliffs and along the Black River, with mature elm, oak and ash trees lining the fairways.

The Valley of the Eagles clubhouse features an exciting new dining option for golfers and non-golfers alike at the Black River Tavern. Open year-round for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the Tavern offers a comfortable and cozy atmosphere with handcrafted walnut tables, wood accents from timber harvested from the area and natural stonework. The Tavern’s lunch and dinner menus offer a mixture of farm-fresh salads, sharable appetizers, gourmet burgers, artisan-prepared meats and homemade desserts. The exceptional food is paired with signature, finely-crafted cocktails, carefully selected wines, and a rotating craft beer selection. What’s more, the club has teamed with local brewer, Sibling Revelry Brewing to create a special Valley of the Eagles Pilsner. Brewed exclusively for Valley of the Eagles, the pilsner is available in a 16 ounce can for enjoyment on the course and is also available on tap in the Black River Tavern.

In addition to dining at The Black River Tavern, the clubhouse also features three state-of-the-art golf simulators for year-round and multi-course enjoyment. The Valley of the Eagles clubhouse makes a terrific venue for weddings, meetings, banquets and golf outings.

“We’re excited to unveil the completed Valley of the Eagles Golf Club to Cleveland-area golfers,” said Ray Metz, general manager, Valley of the Eagles. “Our team has worked hard over the last two-plus years to deliver incredible golf, club and dining experiences that are unmatched in Northern Ohio.”

Valley of the Eagles is conveniently located at the intersections of highways 90, 80 and 57 — just 25 miles west of downtown Cleveland — in the beautiful Black River Valley, on the border of Cuyahoga and Lorain counties. Daily-fee rates at Valley of the Eagles range from $35 to $60 and include a golf cart. The club also offers an annual pass program for golfers to enjoy unlimited golf.
