U.S. Bank Arena is proud to announce in conjunction with Miami University, Greater Cincinnati Sports Corp, and the Cincinnati Convention and Visitors Bureau that the NCAA Division 1 Men's Ice Hockey Committee has chosen U.S. Bank Arena to host the 2017 NCAA Hockey Midwest Regional on March 25 and 26, 2017.

"It is truly an honor to once again be chosen as the host of the Men's Ice Hockey Midwest Regionals" said U.S. Bank Arena Vice President and General Manager Kristin Ropp. "This selection only reinforces that Cincinnati is a growing hockey market. We are thankful for the hard work of our partners, Miami University, the Greater Cincinnati Sports Corp and the Cincinnati Convention and Visitors Bureau, in helping us to secure this championship. This bid partnership created in 2013, proves that regional collaboration drives winning event bids. We look forward to hosting this showcase event this March and again in 2017."

This will mark the third time in four years that U.S. Bank Arena has hosted this event. Cincinnati hosted the Midwest Regional in 2014 and will once again host the championship this March. In addition, U.S. Bank Arena also hosted the Frozen Four in 1996.

"We are extremely honored to be chosen to host the 2017 NCAA Midwest Regional for the third time in four years," Associate Athletic Director/Chief Operations Officer Keanah Smith said. "Thanks to the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Committee and Staff for allowing us to continue to bring premiere college hockey events to the city of Cincinnati. Miami University and U.S. Bank Arena have a proud hockey tradition and will work to ensure an extraordinary experience for the student-athletes and fans."

The other three regional sites chosen for 2017 are the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, and the Scheels Arena in Fargo.

"Time and again, our community has delivered when we earn the opportunity to host high-profile sporting events," said Dan Lincoln, president and CEO of the Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau. "From the NCAA hockey regionals to the extraordinary MLB All-Star Week this past summer, we always come together to create a terrific visitor experience. Special thanks to our partners at U.S. Bank and our other event organizers for continuing the positive momentum and giving Cincinnati another chance to shine."

"We are thrilled to welcome hockey fans and the visiting players to Cincinnati USA for the 2017 NCAA Ice Hockey Midwest Regionals," said Jackie Reau, Chair, Greater Cincinnati Sports Corporation. "It will be another great opportunity to showcase Cincinnati USA as a great sports city."

The 2016 NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Midwest Regionals will take place March 25-26 at U.S. Bank Arena. Ticket information will be announced in the coming weeks. For updated information on this and all U.S. Bank Arena events, visit usbankarena.com.
