Transplant Games of America have announced that Cleveland, Ohio, has been awarded the 2016 Donate Life Transplant Games which will be held in July 2016. There are two possible dates in consideration and a final decision will be made at a later date.

Under the auspices of the Transplant Games, the 2016 event will be managed by the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission. Since 2000, the Sports Commission has been responsible for attracting over 150 sporting events, contributing to more than $400 million in economic activity.
Partnering with the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission was Lifebanc, Northeast Ohio's Organ Procurement Organization, University Hospital Systems, and the Cleveland Clinic,
