The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) is pleased to announce that we will be launching the ENY National League Conference Qualifying League in the spring of 2023. Access to the State Premier League will be via application and subsequent collection of team performance analysis carried out by respected soccer ambassadors and Co-Directors of the league Jim Vogt and Jim Kilmeade. The League will also work under the guidance of US Youth Soccer with a goal to provide a clear and understandable team and player pathway from Grassroots to Elite levels of play.

The ENY National League Conference Qualifying League is available for boys and girls teams in the 13U to 17U age groups. Each age group will consist of between eight to 10 teams and will provide teams with qualification opportunities to either the USYS North Atlantic Conference or USYS Mid Atlantic Conference, which on behalf of the USYS National League are managed by EDP Soccer. The National League Conferences present teams with a chance to earn their place into National League P.R.O., which annually provides top league finishers with direct qualification to the USYS National Championships.

"It is important we provide more opportunities for players to earn their place in the National League Conferences. The ENY National League Conference Qualifier will not only localize play but also ensure the right competition and game day environment occurs at every game,” said Simon Collins, USYS National League Commissioner. “Having the experience and professionalism of both Jim Vogt and Jim Kilmeade gives me great confidence that the players’ needs will come first. I look forward to seeing the league grow and further enhance the surrounding National League Conferences.”

“In a very confusing soccer landscape, Eastern New York State Association feels the time is right to unite the nine affiliate member leagues and provide elevated opportunities for their teams and players," explained Co-Director Jim Vogt. “There are times that players or clubs are not afforded the same opportunities. By the unification of the nine leagues, we hope to provide a team access to the next level based on their performance on the field – following the National League’s hashtag of #earnyourplace.”

“With the ENYYSA National League Qualifier League, we are trying to emulate what US Youth Soccer is currently offering its best players, putting egos aside and giving the game back to the players,” added Co-Director Jim Kilmeade.

ENYYSA National League Qualifier League games will be played only during the spring so not to interfere with the fall high school season in New York. Teams that win their division will receive automatic advancement into the quarterfinals of the State Open Cup the following spring.

Additionally, all players in the ENYYSA National League Qualifier League will automatically qualify for the second round of tryouts for Eastern New York’s Olympic Development Program (ODP).

“With the kickoff of the ENYYSA National League Qualifier League next spring, Eastern New York teams will have a clear pathway into either the North Atlantic or Mid Atlantic Conference of the National League,” stated Eastern New York President Richard Christiano. “We look forward for our best players to play top competition in our league without ever having to leave New York State.”
