RFP Deadline is February 5

Following a 30-day public comment period about the former Fiesta Henderson site, the City of Henderson is now opening a Request For Qualifications (RFQ) period to select a developer who can help bring the vision of the property to life via a public-private partnership.

As part of the City's strategic priorities to provide high-performing public service, the City hosted two public open houses in September to gather community input on what amenities residents would like to see on the site, as well as an online survey campaign that collected more than 5,600 responses.

The resident surveys and feedback culminated in the following community preferences for the site:

  • Tournament sports facility and family-oriented entertainment as a primary use
  • Family-fun and arts and culture as supporting uses
  • A strong desire for return on investment given the publicly funded nature of the site
  • Diverse array of public spaces, and a wide variety of options to support this site as a “destination”

The complete results from the feedback sessions and community outreach are available on the Fiesta Henderson Redevelopment Site webpage.

“The community was clear about what they would like to see the Fiesta site become, and now we are looking for a partner to share that bold vision,” said Director of Economic Development and Tourism Jared Smith. “We envision this site as a destination for residents and visitors to enjoy year-round, and we look forward to partnering with someone who can make that happen.”

The City purchased the 35-acre site in 2022 with plans to build a multi-use, indoor community sports facility and for other strategic developments to include amenities based on community feedback. The site features easy access to Lake Mead Parkway and Interstate 11, a prime location for a future attraction to serve Henderson, Southern Nevada and the Mountain West Region.

The City is encouraging developers to participate in the RFQ process, as only those who submit an RFQ for evaluation will be considered. The process is open now through Feb. 5 at 5 p.m.
