U.S. Figure Skating has announced Wichita as the location for 2020 National Theatre On Ice competition. The Wichita Figure Skating Club, in conjunction with Visit Wichita, will host the 2020 National Theatre On Ice competition, held June 24–27, 2020 , at INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas. This is Wichita’s first time hosting the event; they have previously hosted the 2018 and will host the 2020 Midwestern and Pacific Coast Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships.

“Skaters and their families were so impressed by our facilities when we hosted the sectional championships in Wichita last year,” shares Executive Director of Sports, Brian Hargrove. “We are thrilled to host Theatre on Ice in Wichita as well. We will not only be able to showcase our hospitality once again but those in Wichita can benefit from seeing the competition live which is so unique to the Midwest.”

Theatre On Ice (TOI) is a form of competitive figure skating that combines the grace of figure skating with the excitement of theater and dance. Teams consist of between eight and 24 skaters. The programs are judged by U.S. Figure Skating judges and are evaluated on technical merit and presentation with emphasis on originality, costuming, artistry and musicality.
