Oct 26, 2023

The 2024 Scrabble Players Championship (SPC), the 33nd in a series of North American championships dating back to 1978, will begin with an Early Bird on Friday, July 19 and continue with the Main Event running from Saturday, July 20 to Wednesday, July 24.

The championship will take place in South Bend (IN) at the Century Center Convention Center on the banks of the St. Joseph river. South Bend - located 90 miles east of Chicago (IL) - is the home of the University of Notre Dame - worth a visit!, the Studebaker Museum, and the South Bend Cubs (who will be in town at their nearby ballpark).

At almost 25,000 sq. ft, the Convention Hall offers ample space for us all to play together in the same room, and the adjacent Discovery Ballroom gives us plenty of space for registration, watching the live stream, and just hanging out.

You'll have your choice of hotels - the Hilton Doubletree and the Marriott Courtyard - both adjacent to the Century Center at a group rate of $139/night (plus tax). All rooms have refrigerators and coffee makers for those who missed them this year in Las Vegas.

Downtown South Bend features many eclectic, locally owned restaurants that keep the dining scene upbeat and flavorful. And you'll be able to grab your morning Starbucks at the Doubletree.
