The State Farm Chicago Legends, a college basketball doubleheader honoring Chicago's rich basketball history, will be held on Dec. 17 features Northwestern vs. Dayton (6 p.m. CT) followed by BYU vs. Illinois at the United Center.

In its inaugural year, the event will recognize individuals who have helped elevate the city to its preeminent status as one of the nation's best basketball towns. This year's class, which will be announced in the coming weeks, will be recognized during an on court presentation during the doubleheader.
The four teams come to Chicago poised for NCAA Tournament runs this year, and with a history of past success and recent accomplishments. Illinois and BYU rank among the NCAA's top 15 all-time winningest programs with more than 1,700 victories each. Dayton has advanced to the NCAA Tournament each of the last three seasons, including an Elite Eight run in 2014, and Northwestern has seen steady growth under coach Chris Collins, having won 20 regular-season games last season, a program first.
