Greater Orlando Sports Commission Announces Appointment of Kyle Sturley to Downtown Arts District Board of Directors

The Downtown Arts District (DAD) has announced the election of its four new officers and board members for the new fiscal year, starting October 1, 2023. The new officers and board members are as follows and round out DAD’s 14 person Board:

 

  • Officer: Chairman – Kyle Sturley, Senior Director of Marketing, Communications & Special Events, Greater Orlando Sports Commission
  • Officer: Vice-Chairman – Daniel Betancourt, Director of Brand Management & Creative Development, Brightline 
  • Officer: Treasurer – Mariela Saad Delgado El Homsi, Founder, SoTA Collection
  • Officer: Secretary – Casey Hall, Community Relations Manager External Affairs & Community Relations, Orlando Health
  • Immediate Past Chairman – Flynn Dobbs, Owner, Art Haus Fine Art Appraisals & Consulting 
  • Board Member – Carol Burkett, Deputy Chief of Staff, Orange County Mayor's Office
  • Board Member – Mahesh Chaddah, Co-Founder, Reservations.com
  • Board Member – Vennia V. Francois, Senior Counsel, Brennan Manna Diamond
  • Board Member – Marcia Hope Goodwin, Chief Service Officer and Director, Office of the Mayor, City of Orlando 
  • Board Member – Eva Krzewinski, Philanthropist 
  • Board Member – Dr. Paul Skomsky, Retired Dentist and Artist
  • Board Member (Ex-Officio) – Mel Taylor, Radio Personality, WJRR
  • Board Member (Ex-Officio) – Donna Dowless, XOXO Media & Artist 
  • Board Member (Ex-Officio) – Rob Allen, Austin Commercial 

 

The mission of the Downtown Arts District is to lead, stimulate, and guide the development of a vibrant, innovative arts and cultural district that enhances economic development in Downtown Orlando.

 

“We’re excited to expand our board with four new officers who will bring diverse expertise and insight to our work. We have worked diligently to ensure that the Downtown Arts District board represents a variety of experts from different fields and organizations who will support our mission and make positive contributions to move the organization forward,” said Downtown Arts District Executive Director, Barbara Hartley.

 

Downtown Arts District represents and serves the arts community through signature programming and public art projects. Comprised of a series of cultural communities and galleries, including CityArts Orlando, the Downtown Arts District encompasses the visual arts, literature, the performing arts including music, drama, film and dance, as well as arts and culture-related retail businesses.

 

“I am honored and delighted to serve as chairman and welcome such a strong group of board members, and I want to thank Flynn Dobbs for her outstanding leadership over the last two years. I look forward to working with our entire board and downtown arts district stakeholders to serve the arts community in the coming year,” said Downtown Arts District Chairman, Kyle Sturley.
