Placer Valley Welcomes Summer with Hockey, Soccer, Taekwondo, Swimming

Placer Valley, California, has noted the following events for the summer season.

Junction City Silver Cup, July 16-17: What better way to kick-off the soccer season than with an incredible tournament that promises outstanding competition.  The Junction City Silver Cup does just that and more!  For the last 17 years Roseville Youth Soccer Club has welcomed teams from throughout the state to this event and is expecting 2016 to be their largest and most successful to date with 180 teams scheduled to compete.  Nine Roseville parks will be utilized this year including Maidu, Kaseberg, Veteran's Memorial and Wanish. There is no fee for parking or spectators so mark your calendars and come watch some first-class youth soccer competition!  Click here for more information.

Speedo 2016 Summer Sectionals CA-NV, July 21-24: For the first time ever the USA Swimming Speedo Champions Series is making a scheduled stop in Placer Valley on July 21-24. California Capital Aquatics will host this amazing event at the Roseville Aquatics Complex that is expected to bring more than 600 swimmers to the competition coming from all over California and Nevada. Preliminary races start at 9 a.m. and Finals will begin at 5 p.m. on each day of the meet.  A Speedo representative will be on deck during the entire meet as well as a Speedo merchandise dealer.  Come check out the sensational swimming action at 3051 Woodcreek Oaks Blvd in Roseville!  Click here for more information.

ATA Taekwondo Tournament, July 23: Hardwood Palace in Rocklin will play host to the Owings Martial Arts ATA Taekwondo Tournament on Saturday, July 23.  As a regional level tournament there will be athletes competing in every age group from young children to seasoned adults with 650 total participants expected. The sparring is guaranteed to be spectacular so if you're an aspiring black belt don't miss this exciting event!  Click here for more information.

Heroes on Ice, July 30:  We have the perfect way to stay cool on Saturday, July 30 - come watch the California Highway Patrol and Sacramento Area Firefighters in an epic ice hockey battle at Skatetown Ice Arena in Roseville. The best part is they will be playing for to support the families of fallen CHP Officer Nathan Taylor and critically injured CHP Officer Michael Ericson. Tickets are only $20 and all proceeds from ticket sales will go to their respective families. At 1 p.m. a pre-game CHP canine demonstration and silent auction will start off this charitable event and the big game is schedule to begin at 2:45 p.m.  We hope to see you there!  Click here for more information.
