The Mobile Sports Authority has a full slate of events lined up for spring.

 

Mobile Cycling Classic | Citronelle Municipal Park/South Mobile County Commerce Park | March 2 - 3

This year brings a new format and race courses for the annual Mobile Cycling Classic. Day one is at the Citronelle Municipal Park at 18260 Municipal Park Dr. in Citronelle, AL, and will consist of a 17-mile road race in the morning, followed by a 10km Time Trial in the afternoon. Day two is at Commerce Park - South Mobile Industrial District - 5600 Commerce Blvd. E. in Mobile, AL, and will consist of a memorial 5K run/walk followed by the criterium race at 10 am.

The Mobile Cycling Classic isn't just for cyclists this year! Organizers are adding a 5K run & walk in 2024. The Mobile Classic 5K Run & Walk will take place on March 3 as a memorial in honor of Victor Burch. The race will start at Commerce Blvd. E, Mobile, AL 36619 at 8 am. Your registration includes a free t-shirt and hot chocolate! There will be medals for the top 3 in each age group.  Don't miss the opportunity to honor Victor with this inaugural 5K! 

 

46th Annual Azalea Trail Run | Downtown Mobile | March 23

 

For 46 years, the annual Azalea Trail Run has served as one of the first signs of spring in the Mobile community. This year, participants take to the streets on Saturday, March 23. Both the 10K and 5K races are RRCA-sanctioned with USATF-certified courses. All races, including the 2K Fun Run/Walk, are flat, fast surfaces.

 

Wheelchairs: This is a 10K race only and is held in accordance with rules set by Wheelchairs U.S.A.

Mobile Bay Intercollegiate Golf Tournament | Magnolia Grove Golf Club | March 24 - 26

This annual invitational is a 54-hole national golf tournament featuring top college teams from several different major conferences across the country. Conferences represented include Big 10, Atlantic 10, Big 12, SEC, American, Conference USA, Big East, and Sun Belt. The popular event is co-hosted by the University of South Alabama Men's Golf Team and is the season-opener for many of the players.
