The 3v3 Live National Soccer Tour is making its first appearance in Decatur when it brings its high-impact tour to the Jack Allen Recreation Complex. A one-day local competition is set for July 9, 2011 with the 3v3 Live Southeast Regional following July 30-31.

3v3 is considered by soccer enthusiasts as the fastest growing form of soccer. Unlike traditional soccer, each team may only have three players on the field at a time and there is no goalie. The field used is smaller and typically produces a higher scoring game.

The one-day local event is open to anyone with no coaching requirements necessary to form teams. The top four teams in each age division earn a spot in the Southeast Regional to compete with other qualifiers from across the southeast. Registration fee per team (maximum number of players per team is 6 players) is $165. Registration deadline is July 1, 2011.

The Southeast Regional will attract teams from Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Alabama who will compete to advance to the National Championship to be held in San Antonio, Tex. in January, 2012.

"3v3 Live is proud to partner with Decatur to bring the 3v3 Live Southeast Regional Championship to the Jack Allen Recreation Complex. After looking at facilities across the southeast, we felt like Decatur offered the best combination of location and facilities we could find," said Mike Tew, president of 3v3 Live.
