The Oregon Senate moved to clear the way for a proposed 600-room Hyatt hotel at the Oregon Convention Center, financed in part by the Metro regional government. Other hoteliers are angry, citing increased competition and pressure to lower room rates.
|USA Football to Host Eight-Nation International Tournament|
The fifth International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Senior World Championship will be July 9-18 in Canton, Ohio. The field will include Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Japan, Mexico, South Korea and the United States, the two-time defending champion. IFAF is working with 78 countries spanning six continents with national federations for American football, up from 21 member nations in 2006.
