Meijer State Games of Michigan Announces Winter Schedule

The Olympics are upon us and so is the first inaugural Meijer State Games of Michigan Winter Games. The Winter Games will take place February 14-16, 2014 with Opening Ceremonies being held February 14 at Cannonsburg Ski & Ride Area (6800 Cannonsburg Rd NE, Belmont, Mich.) starting at 7 p.m. The Opening Ceremonies festivities will consist of a parade of athletes, torch light parade (featuring the ski patrol), fireworks, and a big air exhibition featuring professional skiers / snowboarders.
Athlete check-in will be from 4:00 - 6:45 p.m. The first 500 athletes to attend Opening Ceremonies will receive giveaways, commemorative credential, and local restaurant incentives. Merchandise will also be available for purchase. Opening Ceremonies is a free event to attend and a Cannonsburg buy one lift ticket – get one lift ticket free promotion will be happening February 14 for registered Winter Games participants.
“This is a perfect fit for Cannonsburg,” said Mark Moline, Marketing Director of Cannonsburg Ski and Ride Area. “We are constantly trying to provide a unique experience for winter sports and the Winter Games brings that element. Hosting the Opening Ceremonies as well should create an awesome family atmosphere for Valentine’s Day.”

“The Winter Games is different from other winter sport tournaments and events. Athletes of all ages and abilities can compete and attend the Opening Ceremonies for an experience that is just like the real Olympic Winter Games.
