Event Scheduled for July 5-6 in California, Intended to Bring College Together Coaches and Junior Tennis Players

College tennis coaches and junior tennis players can now register for the first-ever College Tennis Combine which will take place July 5-6, 2014 at the Cerritos Tennis Center, 19700 Bloomfield Ave., Cerritos, CA  90703.

The weekend event will allow numerous college tennis coaches the opportunity to evaluate junior tennis players up-close as attendees take part in fitness tests and on-court match play to showcase their skills and talents in a competitive setting.

“We are very excited to bring this unique event to Southern California for the first time,” said Bram Sada, manager of Cerritos Tennis Center. “The College Tennis Combine is the perfect setting for college coaches to get an in-depth look at potential players for their team. It is also beneficial for players who are looking to play collegiate tennis at the Division I, Division II or Division III levels.”

According to Sada, there has never been an event such as the College Tennis Combine that measure the various physical fitness skills college tennis coaches look for in their recruits. “This is an event that can change the landscape of college tennis recruiting in the future,” Sada said.

The College Tennis Combine is open to U.S. and international players ages 14-18 who want to display their level of skill and fitness to college coaches.  Participants will include many USTA ranked junior players as well as International Tennis Federation junior players.

Day One (Saturday, July 5) of the College Tennis Combine will be dedicated to Comprehensive Fitness Testing with more than ten stations featuring various performance fitness tests such as 20/40 Meter Sprints, Lane Agility Drill, Standing Long Jump and Side Arm Medicine Ball Throw.

On Day Two (Sunday, July 6), players will participate in extensive on-court point play against multiple opponents as college coaches move between courts to observe players.

The registration fee for junior players is $350. The registration deadline is Monday, June 30.

About College Tennis Combine – College Tennis Combine is the premier tennis combine designed for assessment of tennis performance skills and attributes of tennis juniors wishing to play college tennis in the future. College Tennis Combine is the preferred tennis combine for coaches to evaluate juniors because juniors are evaluated physically through (1) performance fitness testing with measurable results through Evo Sports Training and (2) through live match play against comparable juniors.

The College Tennis Combine also distinguishes itself as the ideal event for coaches to evaluate potential recruits because the College Tennis Combine attracts international juniors who normally would not be competing in the USA regularly. It is the ideal way for juniors to make their best impressions in front of college coaches. Implications of one’s performance during the combine can affect perception, scholarship availability and choices for college.

Measurable improvements in performance from combines (year to year) display to coaches a dedication and perseverance to improve and get better. An athlete’s desirability among college coaches is increased based on superior measurable qualities such as speed, agility, power, ideal body fat percentile, and cardiovascular fitness level.

College Tennis Combine was designed by a partnership of leading international junior tennis coaches who have guided and trained over 100 juniors into playing college tennis and college coaches who were looking for a well-managed, organized combine to gauge the athletic potential of recruits.  After having numerous roundtable discussions on finding a better way to recruit, this partnership created the College Tennis Combine and selected Bram Sada as the neutral organizer and manager of the Combine.  Bram Sada is the manager of the Cerritos Tennis Center in Southern California which is the host location for the Combine.  The partnership also selected Evo Sports Training as the neutral administrators of the physical fitness part of the Combine.  Evo Sports Training is an established sports training firm which specializes in training athletes to perform well in combines.
