1,100 Teams Traveling to Raleigh for National Soccer Series

Beginning this weekend, more than 1,100 youth soccer teams from throughout the U.S. will be traveling to Greater Raleigh over the next six weeks for the CASL visitRaleigh.com National Soccer Series presented by Chelsea Football Club.

Games will be played at 13 venues throughout Wake County (including one in Wilson), with the WRAL Soccer Center serving as the primary competition site.

The action begins this weekend with the Girls Shootout on Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 7-8), with 180 teams expected.

Here is the complete schedule for the National Soccer Series:
Nov. 7-8 CASL visitRaleigh.com Girls Shootout (180 teams) ... ages 11-14

Nov. 14-15 CASL visitRaleigh.com Boys Shootout (200 teams) ... ages 11-14

Nov. 20-22 CASL visitRaleigh.com Girls Showcase (380 teams) ... ages 15-19 ... plus more than 400 college coaches in town for recruiting.

Dec. 11-13 CASL visitRaleigh.com Boys Showcase (380 teams) ... ages 15-19 ... plus more than 400 college coaches in town for recruiting.

Combined, the National Soccer Series will bring 1,140 teams to the Raleigh area, generating more than 25,000 hotel room nights and more than $7 million in direct visitor spending. It ranks as the largest youth sporting event ever held in the Triangle, in terms of number of teams and economic impact.
