The Giant Race Series presented by Alaska Airlines, produced by Giants Enterprises, the development and entrepreneurial arm of the San Francisco Giants Major League Baseball franchise, enters its 12th year with the launch of 2021RUN, a new, year-long, virtual fitness and wellness series.

2021RUN (pronounced “Twenty-Twenty Run”) is a subscription-based program that will deliver a collection of monthly virtual challenges, including the four annual Giant Races traditionally held in: Scottsdale, Sacramento, San Jose and San Francisco.  Building on the positive momentum generated from the 2020 virtual Giant Races, this calendar-spanning fitness engagement aims to provide consistent touch points (including physical deliverables and digital content) for the Giants’ fitness and wellness community throughout 2021.  The 2021RUN program was developed to reset and refresh the goals of consistency, healthy living and achievement that are so important to the Giant Race community.  It will also provide a virtual benefit to those hoping to track and schedule their conditioning and training routine while maintaining meaningful connectivity with the Giants brand throughout the year.  Registration opens today at race-sfgiants.com/2021RUN.

For $1 per day in 2021 ($365 total), on the first of each month registrants will receive notice of a themed virtual race or wellness challenge.  An early bird discount of $20.21 is available through December 31, 2020.  Challenge distances will range from 5K to 5 miles.  Running, jogging or walking are all accepted.  By completing each of the 12 challenges, participants will receive an exclusive commemorative enamel pin and race bib.  Participants will also confirm their spot in all four Giant Races (Scottsdale, Sacramento, San Jose and San Francisco) and receive custom Giant Race swag for each one.  While all 2021 Giant Race Series events are currently being offered in a virtual format, should any transition to in-person, registrants will have the opportunity to transfer at no charge.

On a quarterly basis, 2021RUN participants will receive an invitation to participate in virtual events with trainers and other wellness staff from the San Francisco Giants baseball team.  These individuals lead the physical conditioning, health, nutrition and overall wellness of the team on the field.  A healthy and balanced lifestyle is core to the San Francisco Giants organizational culture and the content offered within the 2021RUN program is designed to help fans look to the future and gain inspiration to build a comprehensive approach to being their best self.

“We are excited to announce the 2021RUN program and further expand The Giant Race Series, presented by Alaska Airlines.  The Giants organization is committed to providing motivation towards healthy living within our community,” said Stephen Revetria, President of Giants Enterprises.  “From inception, adaptability and innovation have been critical pillars of The Giant Race property’s success.  We strive to actively listen to our customers and survey the market to ensure we provide engaging and relevant programming.  The year-long 2021RUN concept allows us to strengthen the relationship with our dedicated following and offer a new product, that aligns with their current needs and requests during these challenging times.”

Registration for 2021RUN will be open through March of 2021.  The Giant Race Series — Scottsdale (March), Sacramento (April), San Jose (June) and San Francisco (September) — will still be offered in a virtual format and open for individual registration beginning in January.
