Towson to Host Maryland Special Olympics Summer Games

Special Olympics Maryland will host its state Summer Games from June 7-June 9 in Towson. The Games will be held at Towson University, 8000 York Road.

The schedule is as follows:

Friday June 7, 2013 Competition – Cheerleading, Tennis Block Party Celebration Law Enforcement Torch Run Opening Ceremony
Saturday June 8, 2013 Competition – Aquatics, Athletics, Bocce, Softball Olympic Celebration and Dance
Sunday June 9, 2013 Competition – Aquatics, Athletics, Bocce, Softball Closing Ceremony

 

Participants will include1,500 athletes, 400 coaches, 225 unified partners and 500 volunteers.

Events:
Aquatics – Traditional individual events and team relays, Unified team relays
Athletics – Traditional and Unified track, mini-jav, high jump, long jump, pentathlon, softball throw, shot put, standing long jump, tennis ball throw
Bocce – Singles, Doubles, Unified Doubles
Cheerleading – Traditional and Unified team competition
Softball – Traditional team competition, Unified team competition, Individual Skills Competition
Tennis – Individual Skills Competition, Traditional doubles, Unified doubles competition
