US Army Soldier Showdown Continues with Rocket League Competition

7 Apr, 2021

Texas-based esports organization Complexity Gaming has expanded its partnership with the U.S. Army Installation Management Command’s Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) to host a series of tournaments specifically designed for active-duty U.S. Army soldiers.

The competition, the “Soldier Showdown Part 2 will be played out over a 12-week period by active service members stationed around the world. The cross-platform esports tournament series will feature Fortnite, Rocket League and Call of Duty: Warzone.

Winners will be vying for a chance to win a two-hour virtual gaming session with select Complexity players, Complexity merchandise, and their choice of next-generation game console.

The tournament series continues with Rocket League on April 10 – May 1, and Call of Duty: Warzone on May 8 – June 5. The finals for each tournament series will be live streamed on the Army Entertainment Twitch channel. Active duty U.S. Army soldiers can register here.

Complexity initially partnered with the United States Army in June of 2019, kicking it off with a series of cross-promotional competitions and activations. And while the organization didn’t make a formal announcement in 2020, the partnership continued for another year.
