2018 -2019 USA Yoga Season Gearing Up with Locations for Regionals Chosen

USA Yoga has announced its tentative schedule for the year ahead. Important points are as follows:

  • The qualifier season began on September 1, 2018 and ends three months before the last Regional.

  • The video submission deadline is three months before the date of the Regional.

  • The Regionals must be at least three weeks apart.

  • The Regionals may be scheduled any time between December 1, 2018 and April 30, 2019.

Region 1: Northeast (Kittery, ME March 2, 2019)

Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont

Region 2: Central/Southeast  (Vienna, VA TBA)

District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin

Division 3: Southwest(Houston, TX, TBA)

Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas

Region 4: West (TBA)

Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming

Nationals will be held in conjunction with the State Games of America next year in Lynchburg, VA from August 2-4, 2019. We all loved being part of the State Games and are committed to joining them every other year when they hold their event. Learn more about the event HERE.

As soon as all of the Regionals finish, invitations will be sent out for Nationals. The deadline for Nationals entry will be June 1, 2019.

USA Yoga’s mission is to promote yoga asana as a sport. Our members are athletes, coaches, and judges. We develop rules and scoring, provide training for judges and coaches, and organize events, so that athletes have the opportunity to demonstrate competitive excellence.

Our vision includes advocating the practice of yoga as a means to better human health, healing, and mental and physical well-being, for all ages, through education, outreach programs, and sponsorships of yoga events.
