Mark Gottfried is currently working as a basketball analyst for ESPN after spending 21 years as a college basketball coach. He was the head coach at the University of Alabama for 11 years and led them to the SEC Championship in 2002. He was also nominated for the SEC Coach of the Year in 2003.

This first time event will include over 20 celebrities consisting of former and current college coaches and players, former NBA and NFL players as well as many TV personalities. Each celebrity will be paired with four golfers and enjoy a day on the beautiful greens of Peninsula Golf. All proceeds from the tournament will be donated directly to the Gulf Coast communities to provide scholarships to area youth recreational programs.

All those participating in the tournament will be invited to attend a pre-event pairings party held on the evening of Tuesday, August 31.

"I am very excited and privileged to work with both Gulf Shores and Orange Beach to develop and host this first time event," said Mark Gottfried. "We are welcoming many celebrities to Alabama’s Gulf Coast and know that a good time will be had by all attending."
