USA Cycling Announces Dates for 14 National Championship Events

USA Cycling on has announced the dates and locations for 14 of its 17 2014 national championship events.

From Jan. 8-12, the 2014 USA Cycling Cyclo-cross National Championships will be held at Valmont Park in Boulder, Colo.

The first road national championship is slated for May 2-4, when the USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships will be in Richmond, Va., doubling as a test event for the 2015 UCI Road World Championships. The country’s best professional road racers will return to Chattanooga, Tenn., from May 24-26 to compete in the Volkswagen USA Cycling Professional Road & Time Trial National Championships. The next road national championship event on the docket is the USA Cycling Amateur & Para-cycling Road National Championships on July 2-6 in Madison, Wis. The USA Cycling Masters Road National Championships are moving to Ogden, Utah, and will be contested from Sept. 3-7. The final road national championships of the year is the USA Cycling Professional Criterium National Championships in High Point, N.C., on Sept. 6.

The first mountain bike national championship are scheduled for June 14-15, when the country’s finest endurance riders will be in Gallup, N.M., to contest the USA Cycling 24-Hour Mountain Bike National Championships. America’s top gravity riders will return to Angel Fire, N.M., from June 20-22 to compete in the USA Cycling Gravity Mountain Bike National Championships. The USA Cycling arathon Mountain Bike National Championships will be in Sun Valley, Idaho, on July 5. The USA Cycling Cross-Country Mountain Bike National Championships come back to Bear Creek Resort in Macungie, Pa., from July 17-20.

The two BMX national championships are two weeks apart in May. The USA Cycling Elite BMX National Championships are slated for May 3 in Chula Vista, Calif. Two weeks later, the USA Cycling Amateur BMX National Championships are slated for May 17 in Albuquerque, N.M.

The USA Cycling Elite Track National Championships will be held as a single event in 2014 in Rock Hill, S.C., from Aug. 12-17. The USA Cycling Collegiate Track National Championships will be in Indianapolis, Ind., from Sept. 18-21.

The USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships will be held Oct. 24-26 at a to-be-determined location. The location for that event as well as the dates and locations for the USA Cycling Juniors Track National Championships and USA Cycling Masters Track National Championships will be announced soon.
