Bruce Howard is in his 30th year as publications/communications director for the National Federation of State High School Associations. He also serves as the editor of *High School Today* and the online publication *NFHS Coaching Today*. He enjoys all sports, particularly distance running, and has competed in 12 marathons. He is a native of Texas and now resides in Brownsburg, Indiana. He and his wife, Nancy, have four children and one grandchild.
