In 2019 XTERRA Global is joining forces with the National Forest Foundation, the non-profit partner of the US Forest Service, to promote the health and public enjoyment of the 193-million-acre US national forest system.

For every registered athlete at any XTERRA race in the United States in 2019, the XTERRA Foundation will donate US$1 to the National Forest Foundation to plant one tree in a national forest.

To participate in the #LiveMoreChallenge, athletes can simply register and race at any XTERRA event in the US or donate to the XTERRA Foundation where 100% of the proceeds will go to the foundation on behalf of the XTERRA community.

“XTERRA started with an idea to take triathlon into the wild, explore unknown territory, and connect with nature,” said XTERRA President, Janet Clark. “In doing so, we as a community immersed ourselves in the great outdoors and reaped the benefits in both health and spirit. Today, we consider it our duty to join forces with stewards of the land like the National Forest Foundation to help protect our natural playgrounds for future generations.”

Chartered by the US Congress, the National Forest Foundation was created with a simple mission: ‘bring people together to restore and enhance our national forests and grasslands’.

The XTERRA Foundation is the philanthropic arm of XTERRA. The 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supports the responsible use and protection of the natural environment and those who champion the active, outdoors lifestyle.
