USA Triathlon Announces Extended Agreement with Body Glide

28 Dec, 2020

USA Triathlon has extended its partnership with Body Glide – the maker of skin protection for wetsuit rash, chafing, foot blisters and raw skin – through 2024. Body Glide is one of the national governing body’s longest-standing partners, having first teamed up with USA Triathlon in 2001.

As USA Triathlon’s Exclusive Sport Lubricant, Body Glide has provided support for triathletes in their racing and training for more than two decades. USAT adds that Body Glide ‘products are reliable, plant-based, vegan, petroleum-free, do not undergo animal testing and are designed to be safe on skin and on wetsuits.’

Body Glide has long been recommended with sales and rentals of wetsuits for triathlon, open water swimming and surfing to enable faster and more comfortable wetsuit entry and exit, which is important for triathletes to save valuable time in transition. In addition, the product is used to prevent blisters, chafing and irritation during sport activity from head to toe. It is also a supplier to the US military.

“Body Glide has been absolutely unmatched in the triathlon industry since its inception in the late 1990s, and it continues to be the go-to brand for triathletes to protect their skin and maximize efficiency in transitions,” said Rocky Harris, USA Triathlon CEO.

“USA Triathlon is proud to renew once again with one of our most enduring partners, and to continue providing access to Body Glide’s reliable products for multisport athletes of all levels.”

Bill Sternoff, Body Glide CEO, said “Triathletes look to USA Triathlon for knowledge and inspiration, and they earn our admiration year after year. In their quest to achieve their very best, our products help protect vulnerable skin however it’s rubbed by tri-wear, neoprene and rubber, and where and when feet are vulnerable to blisters and raw skin while running.”

Body Glide will continue to provide an exclusive 15% discount for USA Triathlon Annual Members for products purchased on bodyglide.com, and will provide complimentary product to members of the US National Team and Toyota US Paratriathlon National Team.

In addition, Body Glide will serve as the presenting partner of USAT’s Athlete Checklist, to be shared with athletes competing at all USA Triathlon-owned National Championships (Toyota Age Group Sprint and Olympic-Distance, Collegiate Club, Youth & Junior and Duathlon), as well as a new ‘Essentials Video’ that will present key elements of successful triathlon training and competition.
