Technogym Becomes Official Supplier of PGA TOUR Player Performance Centers

5 Feb, 2018

The PGA TOUR and Technogym – the world’s leading producer and designer of technology-driven smart connected fitness equipment and the official equipment provider of seven recent Olympic Games – have announced a multi-year partnership designating Technogym as an Official Supplier of the PGA TOUR Player Performance Centers.

“We are very proud to have been chosen to provide fitness equipment for the PGA TOUR,” said Nerio Alessandri, Founder and CEO of Technogym. “This important achievement is an acknowledgment of our commitment to research and innovation in developing smart connected products and maintaining quality standards. Technogym is the reference brand for the world’s most successful sport teams and elite athletes, and we look forward to building a lasting relationship with the PGA TOUR.”

Technogym was chosen for its unique and technologically advanced training solutions and digital technologies. When it comes to elite athlete training, Technogym has developed SKILL LINE, a specific product range for athletic performance training that combines both cardio and power training in a single solution.

The Player Performance Centers include four traveling fitness and wellness centers with two dedicated to performance and training and two dedicated to therapy and recovery. Each Player Performance Center will be equipped with SKILLRUNs, an innovative performance treadmill designed for both fitness training and rehabilitation. As a result of a new innovative technology known as MULTIDRIVE (patent pending), the SKILLRUN is both a motorized and non-motorized treadmill which allows it to be instantly changed from cardiovascular training to power training. This technological innovation also allows for the SKILLRUN to be used for physical therapy assisting players in rehabilitative and preventative care.

The SKILLRUN is a performance tool for both professional golfers and golf enthusiasts alike. The sled push option on the SKILLRUN can be used by golfers to increase core stability as well as lower body strength and power.

“We are excited to bring a globally recognized fitness equipment brand like Technogym to the PGA TOUR,” said Brian Oliver, Executive Vice President Corporate Partnerships at the PGA TOUR. “Since first being introduced on TOUR in 1985, the Player Performance Centers have become an extremely popular and important benefit for our members. As training regimens continue to advance in golf, Technogym will help ensure the needs of these world-class athletes are being met.”
