Dakota "Cody" Johnson has been appointed as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's new Championships & Rankings Coordinator. A 2016 graduate of the University of Illinois, Johnson began his duties with the ITA on March 14.

"We worked very hard during the hiring process to identify people who not only have experience and knowledge within the sport of college tennis, but also have a passion and love for the sport that helps transform a good employee into a great one," said ITA Director of Championships, Cory Brooks. "We think Cody is one of those people and we are thrilled at the opportunity to add him to our ITA team!"

At the ITA, Johnson will be the primary point person for the Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings. He will also assist Brooks in the ITA Competitive Department with preparations for the ITA's various national and regional championships.

"I spent my collegiate career working with some great tennis programs and communities and was lucky enough to be mentored by some of the strongest advocates for college tennis," said Johnson. "I look forward to helping the ITA grow the sport of tennis on campuses across the country."

Prior to joining the ITA, Johnson served as a graduate assistant in event management and facilities at Baylor University. He aided in pregame facility set-up for all sports, day-to-day maintenance of facilities and assisted in game day operations. Johnson was also a stringer for the Baylor women's tennis team and played on the university's club tennis team. While at Illinois, Johnson spent two years as the manager of the women's tennis team. His responsibilities included stringing racquets, keeping players prepared for practices and matches, and advising players/coaches on equipment decisions.
