Farmers Insurance, title sponsor of the Farmers Insurance Open since 2010, has signed a seven-year extension that will carry its commitment through 2026.

The announcement was made by PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan, Farmers Chief Marketing Officer Mike Linton and Peter Ripa, CEO of the Century Club of San Diego– the tournament’s host organization – at Torrey Pines Golf Course in advance of the 67th playing of the Farmers Insurance Open.

“Farmers Insurance has been incredibly supportive of the tournament and the Century Club’s charitable initiatives since first committing to become the title sponsor in 2010,” Monahan said. “We are extremely grateful for the strong support of Farmers and its active role as title sponsor, and we are excited by the commitment Farmers has made to continue sponsorship of the Farmers Insurance Open for an additional seven years.”

As a Southern California-based company, Farmers Insurance initially came in to sponsor the 2010 tournament just 10 days before the opening round and just months after coming into the San Diego community in response to devastating wildfires. Nearly a decade later, disaster resilience continues to be a core component of the business and community efforts of Farmers, with several initiatives this week to support communities impacted this past year.

“At Farmers, we’ve seen a thing or two over our proud history and have come to know from our experience with the PGA TOUR that our sponsorship of the Farmers Insurance Open makes sense for our customers, our brand and the many charitable organizations that are helped as a result of the tournament,” said Linton. “To paraphrase our own Professor Burke, having seen almost everything available in terms of partnership opportunities, extending our sponsorship of the Farmers Insurance Open for seven more years is just the smart thing to do.”

In partnership with Farmers, the Century Club has contributed more than $20 million to deserving organizations benefiting at-risk youth since 2010.

“The Century Club of San Diego is thrilled to join with both Farmers Insurance and the PGA TOUR to announce this extension,” Ripa said. “We are fortunate to have an outstanding title sponsor, as Farmers’ commitment to this Tournament is rivaled only by its dedication to the Southern California community.  With this extended relationship comes a genuine excitement as both Farmers and the Century Club of San Diego have been afforded the opportunity to further elevate this Event.  On behalf of the entire Century Club of San Diego, we are eager to continue to build upon the tremendous foundation that has already been laid at Torrey Pines.”
