As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to thwart mass participation events across the globe, IRONMAN has confirmed the status on its events in Ohio and Santa Rosa, California. This sees IRONMAN 70.3 Ohio rescheduled for 2021, and the 2020 IRONMAN Santa Rosa and IRONMAN 70.3 Santa Rosa now scheduled to take place together on October 17, 2020.

IRONMAN 70.3 Ohio
Based on a mandate from the City of Delaware, Ohio, in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, IRONMAN 70.3 Ohio, originally scheduled for July 26 cannot take place in 2020 and will return on July 25, 2021. All registered athletes of the 2020 IRONMAN 70.3 Ohio triathlon will be receiving an email with further information.

Santa Rosa
In recent weeks IRONMAN has worked with various host city partners to determine potential options and secure a new race date for its 70.3 and full distance triathlons in Santa Rosa, California.

After assessing all event scenarios, and to best meet the needs of athletes and the Santa Rosa community, the 2020 IRONMAN Santa Rosa and IRONMAN 70.3 Santa Rosa triathlons are now scheduled to take place together on October 17, 2020.

Over 5,000 athletes are registered for these two 2020 events. In February, IRONMAN announced that the 2020 edition of IRONMAN Santa Rosa will mark the end of the full-distance IRONMAN triathlon in Santa Rosa, California.

While the full-distance IRONMAN triathlon will no longer be offered, the City of Santa Rosa will ‘continue to be an important partner and play host to the IRONMAN 70.3 Santa Rosa triathlon.’

This year’s IRONMAN 70.3 Santa Rosa was originally scheduled to take place on May 9, 2020, while the final IRONMAN Santa Rosa was originally scheduled to be held on July 25, 2020.

All registered athletes of IRONMAN Santa Rosa and IRONMAN 70.3 Santa Rosa will be receiving an email with further information.
