Record-Breaking Attendance at Honda Grand Prix of Alabama

ZOOM Motorsports announced today that the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama brought 83,564 fans to Barber Motorsports Park for the three-day race weekend.  That is the second highest overall attendance since the inaugural event.  Officials announced that 57,963 came out Sunday to watch IndyCar driver Ryan Hunter-Reay win the title. Sunday’s attendance is the highest of any Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama thus far.

“We are pleasantly surprised by today’s attendance record,” stated Gene Hallman, President and CEO of ZOOM Motorsports, the exclusive event promoter of Barber Motorsports Park. “Great weather and the anticipation of great racing brought the fans out in record numbers. ZOOM Motorsports continues to be pleased with how the IndyCar fanbase continues to grow in Alabama.”

Also announced today was the extension of the IndyCar contract, bringing the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama back to Barber Motorsports Park for three more years through 2016.
